This policy explains how Mtaani Tickets uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies. In the interest of giving you an accurate answer rather than a generic one: as of the date above, Mtaani Tickets does not set any advertising or analytics cookies at all. We use your browser's local storage — a similar but distinct technology — for a short, specific list of functional purposes, detailed below.
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files a website can ask your browser to store, then read back on later visits — commonly used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, or track behavior across sites for advertising. "Local storage" is a related browser technology that works similarly (data saved in your browser, tied to our site) but isn't sent automatically with every network request the way a cookie is. We refer to both together in this policy for simplicity, and note which one applies where it matters.
2. What we actually use
We use browser storage for exactly three purposes, all of them strictly functional:
- Keeping you signed in between visits;
- Remembering whether you prefer light or dark mode; and
- Caching basic site-branding settings (site name, tagline, logo) so the page looks right the instant it loads, instead of flashing a placeholder while it fetches from our database.
We do not use cookies or local storage for advertising, cross-site tracking, or third-party analytics. If that changes in the future — for example, if we add a product analytics tool — we will update this policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent first.
3. Storage we use, in detail
| Name / purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase authentication session — keeps you signed in | Local storage | Until you sign out, or the session expires |
| Theme preference — remembers light/dark mode | Local storage | Until you change it or clear browser data |
| Site branding cache — site name, tagline, and logo for fast first paint | Local storage | Refreshed periodically; until cleared |
4. Third-party cookies
If you choose to sign in with Google, Google will set its own cookies as part of that sign-in flow, governed by Google's Privacy Policy, not this one. We don't control what Google does during that flow. Outside of an active Google sign-in, we don't embed any third-party trackers, ad networks, or analytics scripts on the Platform.
5. Managing or disabling storage
Because we don't use tracking cookies, there isn't a cookie-consent tracker to opt out of. You can still clear local storage at any time through your browser's settings (usually under "Privacy" or "Site data") — doing so will simply sign you out and reset your theme preference the next time you visit.
6. Changes to this policy
If we ever introduce analytics, advertising, or other tracking technologies, we will update this policy first and, where required, present a consent mechanism before those technologies are activated. We will update the "Last updated" date above whenever this policy changes.
